He's the oldest, now. He's not on his own. He has suddenly switched to a new role. Wow! What the heck. I wouldn't know about that. I never had to go through that. I have that in common with only children. He is now "relative". He does not stand alone. It adds a level of frustration when he behaves immaturely. Older siblings are by definition older. Old. Not young. Not babies. Unless they're twins. Even then I've heard birth order still carries some significance.
There is another small fry in the house. What can you do? I feel like this is one of those interpersonal things as dictated by the species. We are highly social, highly evolved. But not necessarily well equipped to deal with the ramifications. He is a victim. I never knew this sort of victimhood. I had others. Some think being the first born is a gift. What if it is also a curse of sorts?
