There are so many ways we put pressure on our low back. And there are so many ways to reconfigure and re-lengthen the muscles that surround our low back. It's like a jigsaw puzzle of moving parts. Meanwhile, we have to hug, and dance, and lift, and worst of all, sit. Some people have it all worked out. But not me. I missed that day in anatomy class. I do everything wrong and it ends up converging on my low back. It's like the fulcrum of the entire human body. If you think about sitting, it's a ridiculous act. You get no help from your lower extremities. Think about the different positions we ask our bodies to put themselves in on a daily basis. It's sickening. Just think about what we look like when we sit in a chair. We look like a turd. We are a turd. K wanted me to get a massage. But what's the point, really? I'm just going to sit down and ruin it later. I think I'm going to quit the cello and start playing the marimba. I must heal thyself. What else can I do? It comes from inside me. That's what I've realized lately. My pains are not inflicted from the outside.
